I have received your two letters, the last of them of the 3d Instant about a Week ago, & would have answered you soon ha I not been indisposed. I now write principally to acknowledge the receipt of favors so dear and welcome to me, tho I am unable to give you any account of the commissions contained in them. Sir Joseph Banks having been laid up with a severe fit of the gout, Mr Lambert being absent from town, & my own indisposition, are the reasons.
