[Hepper (1976) p. 25:] "The leaves have a laurel-like odour; they are pounded fresh and applied to old legbone injuries. The root is used to dispel tumour testiculi; a decoction is used internally and an ointment externally; derived from the finely
grated root. The decoction is also drunk for gonorrhoea. The seeds are enveloped in a tasty sweetish jelly; they are roasted and eaten. Th."
