[Hepper (1976) pp. 90-91:] "I have nowhere found it in such numbers that I could institute a regular experiment with it: I collected part of it; removed the stems; and compressed the rest in a very large glass and infused the same with water but it became putrescent without fermenting; neither does the colouring of the leaves and outward aspect indicate any indigo. I doubt whether it has name or utility for the natives; at least I have not been able to discover any of these. Th."
